The set speed determines the volume that is moved and the time it takes to do so.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>When does volumetric dosing become advantageous?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Volumetric dosing is a fast and convenient way to dose dry products. However, the moisture content, flow characteristics, particle size and bulk weight of the product all affect the filling of the screw. For example, milk powder can adhere and affect the volume flow. This can be prevented in the feeder by vibrating the product with an agitator. In addition, factors such as storage methods also play a role.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Gravimetric or volumetric dosing?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A volumetric dosing system is usually cheaper to buy than a gravimetric dosing system.
